Its over a foot long, pink chest and black vertical body stripe, but has a small but not really significant lump on its head.
I used to haave it with a synspyllum cichlid which grew much faster and got the male head hump.

its a 6 foot tank, so plenty of room

The male is larger, with more intense colors, and with age develop a hump on their forehead. Males have a pointed genital papilla.

size males are nearly always smaller than females and a lot showier

its a female i have a couple jack dempseys they r just the same its a female
