A fancy Washington apple is the rarest apple in the world. It's grown on the tree that is urinated on by a wolf on a full moon. It is then picked not by farmers but by Denzel Washington himself. He ties silk pink ribbons around them and then puts them in stores to sell. This cycle that only happens once every fortnight is what makes the Fancy Washington apple so gd fancy.

Lets get right to the "core" of things shall we?
Marketing makes them "fancy". Marketing also makes them "Washington". Language makes them "apples". God just made them good. Satan started all the marketing. Eve was the first marketing assistant and Adam was the first customer to bite into the marketing bait. So for future reference think of the owner of the store as Satan, the advertising executive as Eve and yourself as Adam. Since you are asking about it here, I would say the advertisement really has a hold on you. I predict you will be eating an apple by this afternoon and naked by tonight. Enjoy!
