Well this doesn't sound like real life but a hypothetical. My answer is I stop. The dog had a life and a value to start. But, more importantly, how you treat that child who owned the dog says a lot about how you would treat your own child which is on the way. Your character is more important than missing the birth. Your wife doesn't need you there--women have been having children forever and the father isn't required in any way shape or form for this event. Explaining to your wife why you missed the birth should have great significance to her, that you cared enough to stop for that child who lost its dog--if it doesn't you're married to a philistine.
Moreover, the birth of a child is usually not that precise. Doctors may say 10 minutes, but you dont' know, its possible the child will have already been born before you get there, even if you don't stop or you may get there and have to wait.

If my child were coming that fast, maybe not, but I would stop on my way home and explain the situation to the family. As much as they may of loved the dog, surely they would understand you not wanting to miss the birth of your child.

oooo, I can't answer this cosI'm a woman....though lets say for arguements sake, I was going to be at the birth of my best friends child, cos her fella is AWOL. What I would do is this, I'd stop pick the dog up pop him on the pavement, demand the child tells me where he/she lives,if it wasn't far I'd take both the kiddie and the doggie back to their home, explain real brief about what happened then I'd leave and get to the hospital, and pray I didn't miss it.

Grab the dog, throw it over my shoulder, pick up the kid and put him in the car, race to the hospital, toss the dog in the morgue, run upstairs, see the baby being born while telling the kid not to cry becuase I will get him another dog since Rusty is now in doggy heaven. Hopefully, being in the delivery room will distract him. And I will promise to name the baby Rusty in tribute.

Yeah I would stop.... make sure the dog is dead, throw it to the side of the road and give the kid $10 to buy a lesh and collar for his next dog and be on my merry way again!
Well insert some sympathy in there somewhere....haha...

I do stop. I tell the kid to get her parents. Quickly tell them then come back after the birth and deal with that. I'm sure the mother after giving birth would understand. Well hopefully anyways.

i would stop, give the kid my name and phone number, tell him to give it to his mom, and i would go to the hospital. When they call you can explain why you couldn't wait there and do things the right way. Anyone with a heart would understand!!! But i think you need to offer to pay to get the boy another dog!!!

yes I would stop. I would take care of it as quickly as possible and get my tail to the hospital and just hope that I didn't miss anything.
