He was an ex policeman, but having been convicted of his manslaughter, his widow has made an unsuccessful claim for his police pension. What are your opinions on this?

I saw this on the news - she got drunk and then stabbed him during an arguement.
Its bad enough when you can be divorced against your will and have to give over a chunk of your wages, but to be murdered and then your killer to be awarded your pension!
What's next? Child custody for paedophiles?

Hmm this is tricky, surely she as his widow being the beneficiary has a legal right to his pension, but as she took his life it could be seen that she did it deliberately to claim the money, therefore no I don't think she should be paid out.

I don't think she should get his pension. Murderers should never benefit financially from the death of the person they killed. If they could, imagine how many idiots out there would kill for it.
If they had children I think it would be fair that his pension would be used to provide for them though.

If she just wanted his pension you would think she would have been a bit more crafty when she killed him. Maybe she didn't mean to kill him but we all have to face the consequences of our actions sooner or later.

Killing your husband/or wife and then asking for his pension, knowing this government she will probably get it and compensation as well.

there is no shades of grey in this case. She forfeited her right to his pension by unlawfully contributing to his death.
