There are two ways to do this:

1. Is by your method of looking for the actual folder
The folder is C:\Documents and Settings\User\Favorites where "C" is where your operating system is installed and "User" is your user name.

2. Using IE Export functionality
a. Just go to File -> Import/Export
b. Next
c. Export Favorites
d. Select the root
e. specify the file where you want to save it to

In Windows XP, look in c:\Documents & Settings\\favorites. In Windows 98 look in c:\windows\favorites. In XP you can also use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard under Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools to save your Settings and reload them, but I prefer copying the directory directly so I can see it's correct before wiping.

You just need to go to where the favorites file is and copy it, then paste it onto a floppy/usb drive. The file path is below, just go into my computer and go to these folders. You'll need to put in your windows login name where I have Administrator.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Favorites

**This is for Windows XP. If you have a different OS, try searching for it using the start: find and putting favorites in for the file name.
