Have you had them and were they any good? How does the gel come off? Or do you have to wait until it grows out?How often did you have to have them filled in?

Yes, Gel Overlays strenghten your nails while still allowing them to breath. They are much better then acrylic as they do less damage to your nails. I get mine done twice a month and now no longer have tips just gel on my own nails which adds strength. You can wait for them to grow out or you can put hot water in a bowl then place a bowl on top of that and put nail polish remover with acetone in it (comes as standard with most remover) and just place your hand in this with a towel over the top for five mintues then wipe off the gel with a tissue.

They are not as durable as acrylic nail, but look really good.
I get acrylic and a "top coat" of acrylic over my polish(it does not chip of smudge). Costs a little more but like I said, looks good!!

Hi again-I used to work as a nail tech, your nails do not have a respiratory system, so they don't breath. Gel or acrylic-it does not make a difference in the damage, because the prep for either is the same, the filling of the nail to make it a rough surface for the product to stick to. Usually Gels are more expensive-that's the reason they tell you it's better for your nail but it all come down to the$$. I have to say again that I agree the Gel looks better
