Any pet should sleep in its own quarters at night. However, if your monkey is properly vaccinated and doesn't have any fleas, mites, or worms, it's probably not going to kill you. I got ringworm from sleeping with my cat. I just don't think it's very sanitary to sleep with your pets even though it's nice to cuddle with them at night. You also risk rolling over on it and getting a nasty bite. Take my advice and keep him/her in its cage. Also, you don't want your bedding to smell like a monkey! Monkey owners don't realize what a strong odor they have because they get used to it. My Mom is a teacher and had a student with a pet monkey. He came from a clean, nice family but his clothing reeked like the monkey. All the kids made fun of him. She told his parents and they moved the monkey out of the kid's room and didn't let him hold it before school. If you sleep with it, it may permenate you as well. I'm telling you this to be nice not mean. I had an unneutered male cat and it made everything I owned stink but I couldn't smell it. Thankfully, a friend told me and I had the cat neutered and had to throw away some furniture and really clean everything I owned.

It can't be any less healthy than sharing your bed with a man. Monkeys don't contract nor spread the AIDS virus.
