Truth will set you free. You can never be charged with any libel if the statement that you say is the truth. Under the Penal Law, true statements cannot be subject of a libel because even when the statement is damaging, it is the truth.

The proper term is slander, unless you write about her affair, then it is libel, however...

If it is true -- she admitted to it -- then your remarks cannot be taken as slanderous. Remember that slander is only a civil tort in most areas, not a criminal act, so don't think about it as being "charged", its more like "getting sued". Sure, you can win a case based upon the information being truthful, but you still get stuck with defending yourself.

Best advice, leave it behind and move on. There are better things to do with your time and energy.

Libel implies that what you say about someone isn't true and then it has to be proved this lie hurts a reputation. She cheated, she admitted it, in court even.

So No, you can't be sued for defamation of her character. As an admitted adulteress, she has no character to defame.

You can't be held under liable for disclosing a matter of public record. Unless the court records are sealed you can discuss them with anyone you like.

No. "Libel" means knowingly saying something false about a person for the intended purpose of harming that person.
If the wife admitted it, and you pass it on, that is "here say" and perfectly all right.
