i think your system is infected with virus...
if the pc is shutting down with countdown after getting into the os then
go to run command then type shutdown -s then
it ll stop shutting down
and scan for virus and then fix it ..
you are done

Dear,

Step 1:May be some softwares installed on your computer is making problem.Check softwares installed recently when the problem started.

Step 2: Run a full system virus scan using Norton Antivirus

If the above steps doesnt works then further clarification regarding windows needed. Provide us a detailed description of softwares,spyware programs installed on your pc.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Click to clear the Automatically restart check box under System failure, and then click OK. The error message on a blue screen should remain on the screen so you can record the error information.

Im guessing you have a bad power supply, or it is over heating, or you have to much stuff in there and it is overloading the powersupply. Yeah windows XP does suck. You should install linux on it.

maybe some system processes are crashing causing it to reboot
