I have been on the pill for a number of years and came off it on 1st October, had my period and then had unprotetected sex last night, is there any possibility i could get pregnant straight away ?

Hi there, not sure if the date of 1/10 is right, that was just a few days ago???? Anyway, if you've had unprotected sex then there's a good chance of falling pregnant. I know some people say you've got to be off the pill for a while until your body gets back to normal, but i also have friends who've fallen pregnant simply by missing one tablet, or taking a tablet a day late, etc. Good luck :)

You are not likely to get PG so soon after your period. Especially coming off the pill. Try again in about a week, but don't get disheartened if your test comes out negative when you take it. You are most fertile near the middle of your cycle. Or about 2 weeks after the first day of your period.

Hi there,
It is possible, Your chances of being pregnant are very very slim. You say you have been on birth control for a number of years! It can take anywhere from 6months-1 year to get out your system. But everyone is different.
I would not worry but if your wanting not to get pregnant then use another method until your ready to concieve.

It is possible, but it's unlikely!
It normally takes about 6 months for your body to get used to not being on the pill.
Wait until 4 days before your next period is due and take a Pregnancy Test.

a woman has the greatest possibility of being pregnant when engaging in an unprotected sex during her ovulation period. ovulation period is when the egg is released from the ovary and is pushed down from the fallopian tube and is available for fertilization ( or the meeting of egg and sperm).
to most women, ovulation may occur anytime between day 11 - day 21 from the first day of the last menstruation period, during these times, a woman has a great chance of pregnancy. If you don't want to get pregnant, refrain fron engaging in sex during your ovulation period.

Yes it is possible. It happened to my best frined and she wasn't half shocked to find herself preggers so quickly! It had taken her 5 months with her first child so she thought she would have a bit longer to get used to the idea again but no! She said her husband only breathed in the same room as her as soon as she came off the pill and BINGO! lol

There's a definite chance you can get pregnant straight away as you put it. Some women even get pregnant while on the pill.

Yes it is very possible..... My husband and I got pregnant after my first period after 6 yrs of the pill. Unfortunately we miscarried and havent had any luck again. So from personal experience, it is very possible

Yes theres a high chance i fell pregnant while on the pill only missed it once.

Jill, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
