Automatic transmission only makes a difference in the transmission oil, not the engine oil. Put whatever manufacturer recommends. There are many different oils, and only 1 or 2 kinds will be proper for your engine. Others will RUIN your engine. If you are not sure, look in your owner's manual, or just take your car to an oil change place, and have them give you the code of the oil that is proper for your car.

No just change or top up with the recommended oil for that Engine the Auto Gear box has a torque converter in place of the manual clutch assembly as the torque converter tacks up the drive when rotating.The transmission fluid solidifies that enables the converter to come in to play via channels and bands in the auto gear box to change gear at certain rpm

same engine oil the transmission being automatic requires it's own..check your owners manual for the recomended vescosity for your motor..some require 10 w 40w or so on ..best to check factory specks,dont just dump oil in there and be sure to change out your oil filter also..good luck

just the normal oil. a automatic tranny takes a special hydraulic oil to make it operate.its transmission oil and is red and thinner than regular engine oil.
