Ok i dont have any idea why we have rules based on legal sex...No one is obeying the rules....I just dont understand why they keep it a rule for legal sex 18+.......anyone know?

my country is 18+ legal for sex,still there a girls who are getting pregnant and not charged why isnt this a problem?

To keep impressionable teens from making horrible decisions that can have lifelong consequences.
Emotionally, teens are just not ready to have sex. Their brains are still being controlled by their hormones, and they tend to make not-so-wise decisions.

Although the sex law is unenforceable most of the time , there has to such a law set up to protect the pedophiles from having sex with kids under 18.

Because the age of consent has to do with adults and minors. A 12 year old boy could have sex with his 14 year old girlfriend without either partner breaking any laws.

The age of consent is 16 in England. Yet there is no defined age in England for girl on girl as no one had the guts to tell Queen Victoria that, that type of thing goes on! If they got rid of the age of consent what would stop a 40 year old man sleeping with a 13 year old girl? Its a sick world we need to protect our children!

The law exists for the same reason that so many underage people start having sex. They are too young, inexperienced, and immature to realize the ramifications of their actions.

Probably to keep some order amongst things. They don't want EVERYONE going hog wild. It tries to protect young people from being abused or getting into relationships with older people that may try and take advantage of them.
