I am unable to open some websites. I have tried IE6 and IE7 but it makes no difference. I have also used other machines in my office with the same result except on one, where I opened the home page, tried a link and then failed. That machine can no longer open the home page. Something obviously happens but I don't know what. The particular site that I am anxious to use at the moment is www.tomtom.com. I have tried clearing all cookies, hisory, temp folders, cache etc., all to no avail. Any more ideas?

Try going to Internet options - security - and setting it to allow all internet sites. Thats the only thing I can think of - hope it helps!

This sounds like A classic case of the site having been banned either by the network administrator settings or other security software. This means the site is being blocked by software settings talk to the admionistrator, If he refuses your request to use that site at your workplace, Then I am sorry but you're stuck.

Maybe there's a problem with your office network (ex. the administrator enabled a filter). I tried to open http://www.tomtom.com and it opens and loads OK. I followed a link and I had no problems. Minding what you said (you could open it first time but you couldn't open it after that), I closed the window and open it again. Again no problems...
I use "Windows '98 SE" and "Internet Explorer 6" but I use the computer at home, so I don't have any filters enabled.
Try to ask the network administrator.
