The main man behind it all was the lecturer in religion he went to see earlier. Basically he was using 'disciples' to carry out his work.
The guy he saved from jumping of the building was to be the 7th, using a viral bubonic plaque fed to pigeons.
He talked him out of releasing the pigeons then the student committed suicide by jumping of the building.

bascically the weird lecturer man was the instigator in it all , and the guy that tried to commit suicide was going to end the world by releasing infected pigeons, but he killed himself instead. in my opinion this weeks episode was too predictable, i knew right from the start that the lecturer was in on it, they usually have a few twists and turns to keep you guessing. i was quite dissapointed.
