How do I convert a word document into a pdf? The document has images and graps also but I am intending to import these. Cheers! First answer that works gets 10 points.

Yeah, I meant first best answer rather than just the first answer because if they put 'I dont know' that wouldn't be too fair!

Get open office. All products in the suit can be saved or converted to PDF.
Open Office has an extremely good free to use and distribute product at http://www.openoffice.org

It contains programmes fully functional in Word-processing, Database, Spreadsheets, Drawing and Presentation. It looks and feels like Microsoft Office and can even make PDF's
OpenOffice.org is more than a collection of five superb tools.
Unlike some competitors, this suite was not created from a collection of separate pieces of software. From the start, it was designed as one complete office package.
All the packages have a similar 'look and feel' making them very easy to use, with common 'learn once use everywhere' tools like the Styles and Formatting. OpenOffice.org takes its 'look and feel' from your computer - if you change your desktop, OpenOffice.org will change to match.
The same tools are used consistently across the suite - for example, the tools you use to work with graphics within Writer are also found in Impress and Draw.
You don't need to know which application was used to create a particular file - you can 'File Open' any OpenOffice.org file from anywhere and the correct application will be launched.
All the packages share a common spell-checker, etc.; and if you change an 'Option' in one package, it's changed in them all.
Information can be transferred easily between all the packages.
All the components save in OpenDocument format, the new international standard for office documents. This XML based format offers substantial disk savings compared to common competitors' formats. It also means you can access your data from any OpenDocument compliant software.
All the packages are installed in one single operation, using the installation process you are used to on your computer.
All the packages are released under the same open licensing model - there are no hidden charges now or in the future.

Why does the 1st answer get 10 points instead of the BEST answer?

Anyways, you can convert Word documents using the fastpdf.com online tool, but it costs money to get the resulting PDF file (about 8 euro for a 50 page document), still cheaper than buying Adobe Writer, if you only have to do a few documents - if you don't like to pay at all, you can download a free converter, like Primopdf

Which Adobe reader are you using? I'm using Adobe Reader 9.3 and it allows me a mouse function, where I can select my text and copy-paste. I used to have the same problem as you and resorted to screen-shotting all the time. It was very annoying. You could try saving it as .txt or .doc instead of .pdf? Also, try searching the options on the pdf document, for anything that suggests if you might like to change it to text format. I slightly recall changing my pdf into "text". Kind of annoying since it opened up in notepad and all the visual, underline and fancy colourings were gone. Good luck,

You need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer... once you have this ...

In Word you go to File, Print and then under Printers select Adobe (.pdf) file.... you can then save to whichever directory you like .. I usually save to desktop and then delete the file after I've used it...

Good luck!
