Gotta be done, at least once in your life! Mind you, people are right in saying in the UK, you'll probably get sued if you do it, but at least if you use the Bible you could claim it was an Act of God!

No. Well... in Britain, if you so much as asked a burglar to leave he'd probably sue you. But for those of us who have an ounce of common sense, no.
Ah, but what if the bible is too heavy? That might constitute excessive force. Better to use a pocket diary, I think. And don't hit him with it, just hide behind it. That ought to do.

no it ain't wrong, but it would be hard work even more so for a female, the first hit would have to be direct to the lower part of the back of his head if i was to stand a chance so i think i would do that and then do a runner... them old Bibles are well heavy and i would more then likely pass out hitting him with the huge bulky thing b4 he did, so it would be stupid but not wrong.....

Eh, what a strange question... Well if I found a stranger in my house I would not feel guilty about beating them to a bloody pulp with a bible or any other inanimate object, if there in my house with a baseball bat there probably there to kill me, so kill or be killed.....!

It's not wrong, but it's perfectly legal. Why do you think *blank* Witnesses get away with going door-to-door trying to recruit followers. If you're not careful, they WILL beat you over the head with their bible!

the law in the UK favours the criminal, I would end up in prison for defending my home, my family and my possessions, I would be better off helping him load the van then beating myself round the head with the bat.
