They are not dodgy, just annoying, and also on my work PC - so should probably get rid of them, if possible.
thanks.

Click Tools, then Internet Options, then Clear History and Delete Cookies if you're using Internet Explorer. If you want to clear all annoying files/cookies etc, download a little piece of useful software called CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ and use it every few days.

Cleaning only the history from Tools > Options will not work.

You have to clean the 'typed' addresses in the registry. Do the following:

Start
Run
type regedit
expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER
expand Software
expand Microsoft
expand Internet Explorer
click on TypedURLs
right click on the URL that you want to delete and choose Delete from the pop-up menu

There you go... but be very carefull when you're modifying the registry

Good luck.

I'm guessing you mean Internet Explorer. Tools -> Internet Options ->Clear History & Delete Files.

Also, when you've cleared your history (as mentioned above), go to Tools>>>Internet Options>>>Content (tab), click the AutoComplete button and take the check out of Web Addresses, then click Apply, then OK.
