Aww, arent you sweet, ok now that we got that straight lets get into some hot suggestions.
Since your open to new ideas, if you have children, get someone to mind them overnight or for the weekend if possible.
1st set the house up. Bring the mattress out to the lounge, instead of being in the bedroom, sprinkle rose petals over the sheets.
Have some really nice tunes playing, get a cd burnt with some sexy songs (enigma, name of group) (moby, name of singer, 2 songs are, one of these mornings, and, signs of love) etc,
Perfume is a necessity i think, something really nice, hypnotic poison is a fav of mine, it has a really sultry scent.
Go to a chemist and ask if they have any samples of the expensive brands of course. They do keep these, ive worked in a chemist.
Depending on time of year, if winter go out somewhere nice but reasonably priced since your on a budget, if your wearing a jacket which i would suggest,
wear something to die for underneath, the less the better,
shave down below if u catch my drift, once you have settled at your table and ordered a drink
take his hand and put it between your legs, undo your coat or jacket slightly to reveal what little amount of lingerie you have on. he will not be able to think of anything else, until u get home.

Depending on your location, packages such as Sybaris or the majors like Hilton, etc. If your budget is not TOO tight weekend getaways of something HE might like to do; Gambling? If he likes sports, get tickets to a game AND get a room.
Or, have your getaway at home; Ship the kids to grandmas and shut off the phone; A card with a poem of how you feel about him along with a bottle of champagne and breakfast in bed--or, breakfast, lunch AND dinner in bed.
Beforehand--depending how you feel about this--study up on your "kama sutra" and rent some porn. You guys could "act" out your own scenes. Maybe visit a sex shop with him?
As you can see all this is about YOU and HIM and, congrats on what sounds like a great twelve years!

Hmmm, lets dig into my archive of memories ;) ;)
Pleasure is best when time has been spent and little money involved. It doesn't cost a lot to create a little romance and spice to the marriage.
The element of surprise is best and even better if not confined to special days like valentine and anniversary birthday etc...
Spend some time and think about what could 'surprise him' rather than go with what you already knows turns him on.
Create a love den and then invite him in so to speak, he is yours to play with then, let the imagination go and then go with it.
Trying to remember this is a public board but it's a good thing when we 'try to discover something new' rather than go with what we know... ;)

wow , you already have 11 answers here and some good ideas to go on. you know sometimes , just being yourself an true to him is enough. but i know how you are feeling here. words in poetry last a life time when it is wrote from the heart. so is a special song you may even dedicate to him. just a couple more ideas here for ya , when money is tight. it cost nothing more than opening up , looking deep in your heart and write what you feel.

yeah, start tryin to impress him the way u did when ull were dating. remember how excited u would be if he was comin over and how dressed up or dn but w a cute hairstle, and make-up or w very lil, u know, the whole natual look, mascara and lip gloss, and ud have everything cleaned waiting for him to come over? serve him his dinner, refill his drink, accomodat him in everyway. make him feel how much he means to u. the way we expext them to do for us. $ is not an answer or doesnt have nething to do wit nethin! i promise. its the smallest things that count, believe me! make him fall in love w u everyday! watch a movie over take out and cuddle, cook a meal together and then enjoy it the same way it was prepared, watch tv nxt to him even though u dont like whats on, play it and act interested, askin questions and stuff. hell fall again, and agin, .... good luck and i hope u figure things out and ull get closer than ever b4!

hi hope 1st of all good on you girl for wanting to spice up your guys day .Here is the sexiest thing My wife ever did for me and it still gets talked about at work to this day my wife rang my boss at lunch time and asked if he could send me home as My little wife was very lonely and needs me desperately . My boss came out into the work place and called out Slick your wife wants you home right now and you can have the rest of the day off as she thinks she will need you all afternoon. I got home and there at the back door was My wife in her house coat no tie about her waist and her cleavage in plain view it drove me wild we made it upstairs and to the bedroom three hours later .The day cost me about 100 bucks but hell I just hang on that call coming again
