If you're referring to the anime series then I can tell you the series ends at episode 167. However, the manga is still in production. InuYasha fell victim to a common trend in anime in which the series was being produced so fast the manga couldn't keep up and eventually the anime series ran out of source material. A similar event is happening with the Naruto series and in order to compensate for the time to get back on track with the manga they produced a long series of filler episodes.

Ultimately, InuYasha has no ending yet.

The anime has ended but the manga that it was based on is still going strong. It's now up to chapter 476 and there have been quite a few changes that have occured since the anime episodes. But I'm not going to give any plot spoilers !

The series ended for me when Bankotsu died, after that it just became one steaming pile of repetition. I get it, Naraku is a manipulative bastard. In the end Sesshoumaru is still going to be cooler than Inuyasha, Inuyasha is still going to be too weak to combat Naraku's new plot device power, Kikyo is still going to be a ***** and Miroku will still be a perv.
