Yes, sympathy pains are very common in men with a strong emotional connection to their partner. I used to laugh about them until I was in a relationship with a woman with really severe menstral cramps, once a month I was doubled over in pain and having to take care of her at the same time.

No he can't but he can get intestinal gas, which is a form of pain similar to that of period cramps... Not as painful as cramps, but it gives guys a good idea of what we go through every month!
