To those that say guns don't kill people, people kill people, and we might as well ban baseball bats etc., you are wrong. The problem with guns is that is what they are designed to do: to kill. A pencil can be used to kill, but that is not its purpose.

At the same time, there are societies which have far more guns available to individuals than the USA. Norway and Switzerland are two examples. Not noticeable murder hot spots in the world. So the question to ask is why are Americans willing to tolerate so much more violence in society compared with other Western states?

I think part of the answer lies in that Americans are kept in fear because fear sells. Not only guns, but everything. Keep 'em scared, and the public will keep buying. And who does this? Why your media.

Campaigners against guns can go on until they are blue in the face, coming out with statistics like with a gun in the house one is far more likely to die at the hands of a family member than some bad guy. All true, but until the majority of Americans accept that violence, or the threat of violence should be the last resort, not the first, you guys will keep happily blowing each other away.

I believe that Americans should be able to have firearms since it states in the second ammendment to the constitution that we have the right to bear arms.

If you think about it, someone who was really intent on harming someone else, will find some way to do it. By restricting peoples rights to bear arms that will only slow violence down a little bit, not a whole lot. And think of those rural areas where people actually rely on their firearms for protection against potential robbers, harmful animals and even for food.

I can see your concern about firearms, but in my opinion when I weighed everything, I just dont feel that the constitution should be unammended.

If you want to learn to stop almost any abuse the you will need to have the program of Bruce Perry, Patriot Self Defense , a course that you simply will find it here https://tr.im/JcrRS
Patriot Self Defense may teach you a very successful self-defense process that is been field-tested in domiciles, at government functions and on a number of the meanest roads in the world against probably the most ruthless, shrewd and dangerous criminal.
With Patriot Self Defense you will find out that is much easier then you definitely expected to defend your self because that you do not have to be an expert or have strength, you just have to learn how to do specific techniques, easy moves but deathly.

Ever notice , these nut cases only target places where people are sure to be unarmed .
Like schools .
When was the last time you heard of a police station being attacked ?

I'v had 3 occasions where I pulled my pistol , each time the threat DISCOVERED that they were late for supper and went away, rapidly .
NO SHOTS FIRED .
If you compare crime rates and gun laws , the states with the toughest laws ( civilians unarmed ) have the highest crime rates ,where people are permitted to carry legally the crime rates go down .
Could it be that criminals are cowards at heart ?

Bans don't work , except for the law abiding , who obey them .

Of course there should be a ban on fire arms! If there are no guns, no one will be shot on purpose or by accident. It is sickening how America is so trigger happy, even teaching their children how to handle guns and rifles. If you ask me, America needs to open it's eyes and start listening to the rest of the world (which by the way is majority no matter what Americans think)

Yeah, that's working so well in the countries that have banned them.... (roll eyes)

Last time I read about a country that has banned firearms, it was a story about a man who didn't have a gun to defend his home. The family was robbed and killed by the robber who somehow still had one...

And, no, I'm not a member of the NRA...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if firearms were banned, there would be a good chance that folks who commit these crimes would have fully automatic assult weapons with large magazines instead of simple hunting rifles. The hunting rifle isn't a big item in black market weapons dealers' inventories.

NO WAY
Want to end this BS? Here's how:
Have a Junior ROTC in EVERY HIGH SCHOOL
Make it MANDATORY for all who are NOT college bound
What psycho is going to challenge a school when all the kids with no future are armed with BB guns?
Hopefully the psychos in America will start attacking mosques

Definitely not. It would be totally unenforceable.

Only the bad guys would have guns if you tried it.

We probably do need to get a better handle on who buys and who has guns, though, and we might need to do a better job of identifying the kind of whack-nuts who do these shootings. I don't know how you do that. If I figure it out I'll patent it.

I would say yes, but if we do not have fire arms, look whose left with them, the goverment. Do you really trust the goverment that much? What if the goverment decides to go genocidic on its people? I need something to protect myself against psycho Bush and his posse of red necks with guns.
