What is sad is that most people don't see America slipping away. With the new torture bill, any person, whether they are an American citizen or not, can be detained and tortured with no rights whatsoever for as long as the government wishes to hold you. The American government now has a Gestapo.
This is not the America I fought for, my father fought for, nor my grandfather fought for. This is the point where I have had enough. This crap must stop.

I was there. Fairly small turnout. We figured it was about as many as would have turned out to protest Hitler back in the day. There will be more opposition to Bush when people figure out how the MCA applies to them. But by then people will be afraid to protest. Imagine the McCarthy hearings combined with the Spansh Inquisition. Anybody remember pinkos, com symps and fellow travelers? Imagine the decision of what can be considered cruel and unusual in the hands of a man who enjoyed exploding frogs.

If this was really serious, I would think they would try to get more people out for the rally. For me, it's over an hour away to get to a location. I have better things to do than drive that far for a rally that will not make any difference.

Part of the democratic process, which you folks seem to disagree with, is that every four years, you get to VOTE for a new government.
The downside is that sometimes, the party you support loses the election, and you have to makethe best of the situation for 4 years.

Get a life.

MAN, i went to that site...you, my friend, are a singularly focused point of paranoia. You don't REALLY think that the pinnacle of incompetence (federal government) could ever really pull off a scheme as grand as that...
