I have a 32 inch Phillips H.D. ready plasma T.V, and the picture is brilliant, the high definition colour and picture quality is super. If you buy a box, make sure it comes with all the correct cables, as I had to buy extra ones for the sound and converting from DVi to HDMi because of fitting on the system.

Value is a personal decision, but I can give you my opinion.
To set the scene, I recently subscribed to HD TV channels via satellite (ExpressVu) in Canada and watch on a 100" screen (front projection system) in our home theatre. The incremental cost for HD programming over standard TV is $10/month for about a dozen channels.
HDTV is certainly a big improvement over standard definition (SD)TV -- which is essentially unwatchable on a big screen such as I am using -- but one quickly becomes aware that there are differences in HD signals. I have read that some programming is simply upscaled SD, which could explain this. That said, original HD material with surround sound on a big screen with a good sound system is worth every penny (and even upscaled SD material is acceptable).
The only problem with HDTV service is that not everything I might want to watch is available in HD (but presumably that will improve with time). Luckily we have a 30" 16:9 TV that upscales SD to HD resolution, and the picture is excellent -- good enough that I have not tried HD since I don't feel it would be appreciably better.
Bottom line: At the incremental price we are paying I believe HDTV is well worth the money. This is particularly valid if you can display it on a big screen with a good sound system, but I suspect would be somewhat more questionable if you intend to watch on a small screen (< 36" ??).

Yes... Sky HD will blow your mind. Television as you've never seen it, in vibrant colour, deeper detail, amazing clarity and resonant sound.
High Definition TV will be the biggest revolution in TV for years. Sky HD will bring you a cinema-like experience in your own home with sharper, clearer, more vibrant pictures and amazing sound quality on a selection of HD programmes. Once you've experienced it, you'll never want to go back.

To get carry of an HD broadcast you will would desire to get an HD receiver, so no, an aerial won't do the activity. you may of direction use your liquid crystal show television with an aerial, you in easy terms won't get carry of any HD pronounces.

Yes HD is worth it. We got our HD box a few months ago and it is the best especially if your watching sports. It is as clear as DVD quality maybe better.
