Have you heard of those global positioning devices they are going to be putting on convicted child molesters? I think it's a great idea. Personally, on one hand I feel like burning these pervs by the stake but I know that's a little over board. I heard the argument by a friend that some of these people commited these crimes once and that they want to just make things right and get on with their life but the fact that neiborhoods are alerted to a convicted child molester living near by makes their ability to start over nearly impossible. What are your thoughts?

Sex offenders are tracked now. Pedophiles may not be as easily tracked because not all of them offend or are identified.

But it might be worth a try.

For every one we know about there could be as many as ten we don't know about.

From a fathers standpoint, I agree with you about burning these guys at the stake (The real ones, get to that in a sec), on the other hand, you must also look at them as human beings and as such, having rights that you really cannot take away because they were convicted of a crime.

These people (monsters) already have so much to deal with, even if they are better, as in, they have paid for their crimes, got help, and no longer feel that way towards kids, they must report wherever they go, they must tell people in their neighborhood that they are a registered sex offender...etc. This is simply one more way of making sure they are punished for the rest of their lives.

Again, keep in mind I do not agree with what they have done, and would LOVE to see them suffer, there are also those out there with under very special circumstances.

Consider that a man who has been with his girlfriend since she was 12 and he 15, asks her to marry him when he is 18. She is now only 15.

She is emancipated from her parents, and has the legal right to marry him.

They "consumate" their wedding and someone finds out and reports him. He is charged with CSC and sent to prison for 3 years, even though they were legally married.

Consider also that there are people who are 18 and have 17 year old girlfriends. In many states, that is still considered statutory rape even though in some cases they are less than 6 months apart in age.

These 2 men are then put on the registered sex offender list and must go through all the same proceedures as some sick asshole who is 30 and fooling around with young kids. Is it fair? Perhaps, perhaps not, but either way their life is ruined because they can never escape their past.

Why waste more money on the real cm's, when we could just lock them up forever and never let them out, no need to worry about tracking them, or making sure they never do it again. Where they are, they can be in the same position that they put the child in.

I don't think the tracking device would work because it would not stop the behavior. As far as some of them just wanting to get on with their life, the recent shootings in the Amish is a good indicator that their feelings may lay dormant for a long time but do not go away forever. People need to take a stand and change the laws so these people can not slip through the cracks case in point NAMBLA. They are allowed to hold meetings in public libraries. I think that they all need to be put on and island and fend for themselves. That would be a real survivor island and not have any contact with a civilized population.

It has been proven time and time again that these guys cannot be rehabilitated. They are like alcoholics, the desire is always there.
There are also cases showing men who are in wheelchairs paralysed from the waist down, molesting kids. Its in their heads.
The only answer is too keep them away from society, on an island or something, grim yes, but isnt the future of our kids worthe more than the life of these scum.
Once they have been convicted they should never be allowed back into society.
I will add a codecil, theres a big difference between a child and a teenager who looks like an adult. (yes its still wrong but its different to desire a prepubescent child to desiring a womens body)

I believe all Pedophiles should be put on an island away from others. They do not deserve to be let back into society because of their crime. They are sick and will never get better! They will do their crime again and only be put in prison where they are already over crowed and we have to pay taxes for! They get freedom in prison like TV, Weight room and a FREE EDUCATION!! We pay for all that! They say they want to make things better when they are out of jail but their mind takes over and they do the crime all over again!!

These Mutants should be taken away and exterminated.. And it's about time the Pink Light Brigade - Social Workers & Politicians and Liberal hand wringers stop giving these people excuses.. They are evil & should not be given a second chance. As a parent I have the daily routine of worrying my self sick about the safety of my Kids.. I have trackers on their mobiles & the Schools have CCTV even Police Officers... Mutants like Gary Glitter & Ian Huntley..etc...etc... should not be allowed to prowl our streets... Stop treating these people as having an illness - they are Monsters...!

They scream for the right to live in peace wherever they want...but if they had not done such a crime, there would be no problem. What about the rights of their victims or other people with children who don't wish to expose their children to the possibility of being the next victim?! It's time to realize the criminals make a choice to do a crime...the victim has no choice, so the criminal cancels out his/her "rights" when they become a criminal

i believe in castration in these cases, but since thats considered inhumane the gps monitors are going to have to suffice. i dont care how it would make the alleged pedophile feel (having people know about him) he should never have done what he did in the first place if he didnt want the notoriaty that comes with what he did when he gets caught.

I think a better way to keep track of the bastards is to put them in a huge cage and subject them to 24 hrs. of preaching on big screen TVs...
