I read recently that the eggs take 10-12 days to hatch and they don't have to be on hair to hatch. the lice can live for 3 days away from the scalp

I was advised when my daughter had head lice to wash the pillow cases every day and all her hats. However they can't survive long off the body so its very unlikely that you could catch them this way.

All you need to do everyday is put the bedding in the dryer and the lice will burn up easily. wash the towels daily and use the treatment suggested, then everyday use tea tree shampoo the sameway you used the treatment on dry hair.

Yes, they can, and do.
If you have a lice infestation, you are told to wash all bedding and do not share towels with others. You have to wash everything you come into contact with and only sleep on fresh clean sheets/blankets/pillows etc.

Yes lice can survive almost anywhere. They lay eggs in any type of cloth. So if your gf has had them she needs to boil all her clothes.

No they need the scalp to live.
Headrin is what i use on my kids and its brill.
Its non chemical and lasts ages and ages.
With no god awful smell, its abit like baby oil to the touch.
Why would i get a thumbs down for this??
They cant live without a head and this stuff really works, so whats your prob whoever put the thumb down...

Yes they can. on pillows, clothes, bedding, anything that cannot be washed in very hot water needs to be put in a airless bag for at least 6 weeks. they also have a spray you can use to kill them on items such as couches, chairs. they are pesty little buggers

no. anyone thats says they can is talking rubbish. they may leave the head but they don't last long enough to survive anywhere else as they need to feed constantly on the scalp.
