Mine is the deer currently but this changes often. They are so graceful, noble, impressive, and quiet.
What's your favorite and why?

My favorite animal is a cat,"Dawg". I found her on a stairwell when I was running from an abusive partner. As soon as I laid eyes her, so tiny and scared...everything became about her.
This scrappy little thing moved with me from one coast to another. After her first litter, we discovered that she REALLY liked being a Mama. Unfortunatey for her, I'm a believer in spaying and neutering. When I took her for the procedure,,,,she was knocked up again. All of the kittens were beautiful, and one stayed with she and I. Dawg and Stunt were inseperable.

Dawg reminded me often of what she did and did not approve of by speaking her "Dawg" language that could make a sailor blush. If there was a knock at the door she would growel and go investigate. When it was time to ge the mail, she would walk with me to get it like most people do with their dogs. She loved her naps in front of the fireplace and never met a sunbeam she didn't like! She was between my husband and I at dinner every evening knowing that she too would be indulging in whatever it was we had.

Those 19 years with her flew right by. She's been gone for just over two weeks now. She left purring like a chainsaw in true Dawg form! Our home will never be the same. Stunt, her son, is really feeling the loss. He's never been without her in all of his 16 years, I've heard her meow twice and my husband said he smelled her near him. It may or may not be wishful thinking on our parts,,,but it is nice to experience it.

All animals are wonderful and would love to have zoo if I could.

But the bottom line is this: My favorite animal is Dawg. A scrappy domestic tortie cat that found me 19 years ago and shared her fanastic life with me. She blessed my life and will remain in my heart forever.

Love you forever, Dawg!

A Lion because I just think they are so beautiful.I always had a love for the lion from when I was 6 and saw The Wizard of Oz.Also because there are so many animals who are on alert because they are prey. Not many animals are out to attack the lions. They are so strong.I even decorated my house with Lion and Leopard print rugs, comforters, shower curtains, wall paper and floor tiles.I love animals but something about the Lions I love them and leopards too.

The Okapi is one of my favorite animals. It's a giraffe relative, but looks like a cross between a horse, donkey and zebra. It lives in the forests of the Congo, so much isn't know about them, but they are beautiful.
I also love the Hippo, they are so cute, but so big and dangerous. Another strange combination.
