I have had this twice and it is treatable so first off dont worry, easy said I know. You may be asked to go back in 6 months for a follow up smear as they can clear themselves up, however if they do not you will be referred to a colposcopy clinic where a doctor will take further smear and tissue sample called a biopsy, they may perform the colposcopy treatment there and then which involves inserting a heated loop into your vagina and scaping away the cells. This procedure is done under a local aneastheic so you dont feel a thing and there is a female nurse in attendance. There are 3 types of abnormal cell classed as CIN1,2 or 3 (cellular intraepitheal neoplasia). The treatment offered nowadays is called loop biopsy or LLetz (large loop extraction of the transformation zone) once treatment is completed you may asked to return to your local surgery for a smear every 12 months like I had to but since my 2nd case I now have to go every 6 months, but this is only so they can monitor you carefully and catch any further recurrance early.Obviously left untreated the cells can turn into cancer but please be assured that this can take many years to develop so be thankul that they have caught it in plenty of time.Try looking on the Jo's Trust website dedicated to cervical cancer and all forms of treatment for abnormal cells. All the very best and I hope all goes well for you.

It depends what stage they find them at.

I had them and they disappeared by themselves. My friend had hers lasered and many people get positive results and then get negative ones later.

They are quite slow growing if I remember rightly so if you have regular smears there is a good chance you will catch them early.

It just means there have been some changes in the cells that MIGHT indicate they could become cancerous in the future.

Relax and follow your doctors advice.

Read from somewhere: Acidic body promote cancer cells. What makes our body acidic? Stress, smoking, alcohoc, meat, etc. Anything that help increse the oxygen level in your body will be ideal. Like yoga, breathing exercise and taking health food such as Lingzhi(Ganoderma), Aloe vera, garlic, ginseng, anything that contain high organic germanium.
