He is a disgrace to many groups. The gay community will suffer most for his misdeeds though.

O-K I'll just keep shouting until someone hears me. For Decades perhaps Centuries Evangelical Christians many of whom are Republicans have spread this notion that there are closeted gay people who prey on children- - - and now they have a living example, what is more, Foley claims to have been 'molested' as a teenager by a Priest, once again shoring up the MYTH that 'gay people recruit their victims,' much like Vampires. Foley is a 'sacrificial lamb' by his bad example Republicans & Evangelical Christians feel 'good' about hating gay people. It should also be 'shouted' that these 'children' were sixteen seventeen and eighteen and a few short years ago that was legal age of consent - - - not that I am defending Foley, after all he is a Republican, a staunch supporter of Bush and The Iraq War. What I am trying to convey is that Foley serves as a means for stirring people up against sex in any form other than procreative monogamy.

Peace....

His indiscretion will further spoil the image of gays. However, I am not sure that being attracted to a 16 or 17 year old makes him a pedophile; I was under the impression that they were attracted to maybe under 10 or whatever. And by the way, lets remember that 18 years age of consent has been arbitrarily set and could possibly be changed at some later time, who knows. So for someone to suggest the death penalty for him and such is quite stupid. I do agree that Foley acted very unwisely.

Foley is a pedophile, pure and simple. He has voted against many bills to help the gay community. Whether or not he is actually gay, he is NOT a member of the gay community.

He's a disgrace to politicians. No one at my work seems to be focusing on the fact that he's gay but we're all talking about his highly inappropriate contact with an *underage* page. I mean, don't we elect politicans to have /good judgement/? Then why do they keep showing such incredibly /bad judgement/?
My take on it is, politicians have the b@stard tendencies needed to get anything done in the political arena, but we need to constantly remind them what's right and wrong, because they don't seem to understand.

No.

Foley is a disrace to himself... and perhaps the republican party.

He no more disgraces the gay community than straight molesters disgrace their community.

It is horrible, but has nothing at all to do with being gay.

I don't consider him a member of the gay community, so I don't think he's necessarily a disgrace to the gay community.

I do, however, think he's a disgrace to humankind.

Foley is a disgrace to humanity. Sexual predators and pedophiles are abhorred regardless of their being hetero or homosexual.

People in this country are so friggin stupid. Sure it's nasty to be gay...to me anyhow....But wrap ur little brains around this for a minute....if this happened in Tawain(or any of the many countries that have a age of consent below 16) this wouldnt even be an issue. Unfortunatly the american people are very hard-haded and nowa days its just cliche' if you find anyone under 18 attractive you a child molesting perv. If the kid didnt like it he shuldnt have continued with the messages..What I'm tring to say is EVERYTHING is subjective. Wo's to say whats right and wrong. i could go on all day but i wont.......I find i awsomely hilarious that when i watch "Lockup" (an msnbc documentarry on prisons)that u got these murderers and rapist that are killing and raping ppl in prison child molestation or what evr--and these murders think they are above these pedos.......oh well god will have his way with all of us ... and from what i read in the bible he has a particular distaste for people that judge other ppl and persecute them for there beleifs.........
