out of sight,,,out of mind.....the problem of all of you who think that jordan was the greatest probably never bothered to look up or read about the great bill russell....no player has or probably ever will play in 12 nba finals in 13 years of a career...and win 11 rings and 8 in a row to boot...and remember this was during the era of the great wilt chamberlin who bill frustrated time and time again despite being five inches shorter in height.... jordan never started winning those titles until bird, magic, and kareem were fading from the scene and it took him six years in the league before he won his first one....the best ever for jordan?...way off the mark and if you lazy admirers of him bother to read about history in the nba you will have egg on your faces once the truth is abundantly clear

Yes I think so. But, MJ did receive special treatment from the refs because he was the NBA. This is really obvious when you watch the old games and see how he cleared out his defender with one arm everytime he drove to the basket. As his best friend Chuck said "he cheats". I love Jordan regardless. I believe he was the best not just because of his personal play but also the ability to raise the performance of his team. Look at the finals games won by Steve Kerr or John Paxson by an assist from MJ. Anyone who thinks he was just a scorer ala Kobe, needs to watch those games again. Larry Bird had the same talent and might have been a better player as he had nowhere near the athletic ability of Jordan

I deffinetly think so, and his personality and sportsman ship also plays a big part. Everybody loves Jordan AND hes a good player. Kobe is really good too, but half the world hates him !! Including me :). But Jordans gotta watch out for Dwayne Wade and Lebron James. Especially Wade. if that last year wasnt a fluke and he continues to play the way he does, then i think Wade will be replacing Jordans name.

Yes, right now Jordan is considered the best basketball player. But I think Kobe is a good competitor for being the best basketball player. We'll see at the end of his career. For right now, Jordan's the best.

He brought new things to the game and it was amazing. The stats and his 6 titles proove that he is a great player. Though, I don't think he is the best player ever because he wouldn't achieve such things if he weren't surrounded by great people like pippen and stuff.

Nah. Russell won back-to-back NCAA titles at USF, then won a Gold Medal in the Olympics, then won 11 NBA titles in 13 years. Add it all up, that's 14 rings in 16 seasons.

Case closed.

he is not the best because when he left the game the rest of the team was in shambles.

The best player is onewhen he is not part of the team, the teams winning steak doesnt effect. U can see the difference with him and with out him..
