There's no book or figure that says one gender hurts more than the other cuz the same way a woman could hurt after a divorce is the same way a man can also hurt. It all depends on the level of commitment and love.

Marriage is not a one man thing and its not a small deal. Besides apart from ''arrangee marriages and marrying for money'', there is no one that marries today and thinks of divorce tomorrow.

Women usually suffer most financially. Many go from middle class lives to poverty while most men's financial situations improve because child support is less than they would pay if they were still married. Emotionally it's usually the woman who hurts more because women are more emotional while most men can bounce back quickly. But in situations where the man loved the wife and tries his best and the wife doesn't want to try and doesn't love him, perhaps cheats on him, etc. then he'll hurt more.

I think they both probably hurt afterwards, because I'm sure it wasn't their intent to end up a divorce statistic. Who would be happy about ending something that was supposed to be a life-long commitment? Even if they cheated and are leaving their spouse for someone new, they have to have SOME kind of sad feelings due to the fact that they loved them at the beginning. Maybe not though, some people are just cold hearted and selfish like that.

Divorce is definitely a painful afffair and we can not just say that any one of the two sufferers is suffering more.

BUT

There is always an issue behid the divorce and who so ever is responsible should/could feel more HURT and/or GUILT etc.

I think that one should think long and hard before Marrying and even more before the divorce.

My wife is leaving me because she has found another guy and has fallen out of love. This revelation made me numb at first but that wore off and I am getting mad. I hurtmore for the kids and how this will effect them than I do for our relationship, its been over for years anyway. My wife also hurts more for the kids she has a new love. men cheat for sex but our hearts stay with our wives. When a woman cheats its not for sex and she has to give herself emotionally into the relationship.

In marriage, the two are joined together as one. When the one is separated, the pain for both is unto death. Its not natural to separate that which God has placed together. Its nothing but pain. At least when your spouse dies, there is a finality to it, but in divorce, the reality of it never stops.
