I have been informed by an unreliable source, that the sheriff did in fact die of a gingevitus based gum infection.
Oral hygiene was not top of the list back in those days. As a result a small infection, turned evil.
A short while later, the DEPUTY, was self- Promoted to the position of Sheriff. And he was infact shot in the left nipple by a man called ERIC MARLEY. He wore a jacket with the name BOB embroidered on the back. All this took place in the district of CLAPTON. Thus the confusion.
