Just appauling. He should be sacked from his position. He was trained and is employed by the Police service in the UK, and his role is to uphold specific laws of this country. His discomfort with this specific task should not be even considered by his empoyers. I am sure there are things that other police officers do on a daily basis that they do not agree with, or find it uncomfortable - but they do the job they were employed for.
If his moral and ethical position is so strong that he feels he cannot do his job, then he should resign. This is a multi-cultural society that we live in, and like it or not, muslims need to get the chips off their shoulders and realise that they are part of the multi-cultural society as well. And they have the ordacity to call white brits racist? Look on your own doorsteps.
What would happen if the officer in question walked past a jewish teenager being attacked in the street....would be just walk on by.?
If this was a white, english, christian police officer who requested to be removed from guarding the embassy of a muslim country, then there would be outcry - mainly from the Muslim community.

i'm American, yet i'd say that in case you realize you won't be in a position to do the pastime you have been assigned, for regardless of reason, it is your accountability to tell your supervisors and request a transformation. The officer took the possibility that he would lose his pastime, and perchance he would desire to have been fired. It exchange into as much as the supervisors to choose no be counted if to reassign or hearth the Muslim officer. you will would desire to verify out the precedents and the policies of the police branch, and the politics of the region to decide no be counted if this exchange right into a competent determination by utilising the law enforcement officials. There are diverse policies that stick to to the overall performance of instant responsibilities, at the same time with responding to a 999 call. The officer would be derelict in his accountability to guard the conventional public if he did not respond. inquiring for a circulate or reassignment from one's generic submit isn't like refusing to respond to an emergency.

Disgraceful. His sorry *** should be sacked. When you are in the service of your country, you cannot refuse to disobey a legitimate order. I would be saying EXACTLY the same if a Jewish policeman refused to guard an Arab embassy.
This is just PATHETIC.
Anarchy is a word that comes to mind.

It seams like he should be fired, but if I were the one of the individuals in the Israeli embassy and I knew that we had a guard that hated me because of my heritage I wouldn't be sad to see him go.

No Muslim can take the guarantee of any Jew in this world be it in the west east or cent re of the earth. Be it a political leader or a policeman or a baggier. That policeman has done the best of his job and he would be ready to provide his services to any other nation of the world except Israel. He is a true Muslim, I felt to salute him.

id rather protect someone because i want to, that way id do a good job at it rather than because i have to even if i hate the person, so his actions are quiet justifiable.
