I did include him on errans and ask him to help with supper. if he is busy , he is ok. what more can i do , realizing sex too pre-occupies him for awhile.

Men generally view their success as a function of their job and ability to provide. Even though it may have to do with economic conditions in the firm this layoff is viewed as his personal failure somehow. Guys just don't understand how they can work hard for years and get tossed out just like that.
Lost Pup, you bet. Look out for depression. Sit down and formulate a plan. There must be some companies who are hiring experienced people. Have him clean up, drag out some good clothes and start pounding the pavement.
Have him start with some basics,
Do a skills inventory, include everything even if its changing a light bulb.
Write that resume, he'll need it. Detail all job experience.
Pull out the want adds. Make a list of places to visit / call.
Get out and look.
Network with friends.
Often unemployment has good job services use them.

He needs to be busy. This list can keep him going for weeks. Turn his attention to the future not the lost past. This might end up being a new opportunity and does not have to be a failure.
What form of construction? Concrete, carpenters and building trades are full of people who take there experience into their own business. While its fresh get him thinking change for the better.

there are smart a- sses in the world aren't there? lol , that is why they have 0 to 1 for the best answers! but everything will work out here for the best. men are like that , like lost pups when they have to go through this. but it is a part of life. tell him to kick back , rest his back for awhile. and enjoy_ because it won't last forever! do the things he may have not been able to do around the house. every house needs it repairs! good luck !

Losing the job hurt him where it hurt the most, his ego.Just encourage him to look for another job. There are plenty of construction jobs out there. Perhaps one with more pay than the one he lost.Everything happens for a reason, and although he may not see the light yet, something better is headed your way.Don't give up hope and don't let this little set back get him down.

yal , sweety it is a tough time for him. he just don't know how to feel those empty hours yet. so give him about a week and he will soon occupy himself. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will all work out. after yrs. of employment and suddenly you have those hrs. available to you that you used to be working , are a lil' rough on a person at first. thank god tho , it isn't a lasting lay off it happens to all construction at one time or another.

well maybe its time for a little renovation job if you can afford it or a small home business The sex thing will only tire you out , lol because he is going to have more unspent energy (which can be a good thing tee hee). Its all up to you to pat his male ego and dust him off to get out and find work again until then looks like a lot of long nights .
