my husband is in iraq- when he came home for his 2 week leave he told me to go visit my family in california. 3 weeks after i got here i got a letter from his attorney saying that he filed for divorce. were not actually divorced yet but i want to start dating an old friend- this guy that is AWESOME- i feel as tho our relationship has potential for success- or sumthing like that.
since me and my husband got married 2 yrs ago- weve only lived together at most 5-6 months- a year ago.
should i go for it?

Fisrst of all you should confirm if he has written the letter or not because once i read in the newspaper that a couple has divorced because somebody was writting them letters against each other. then if you confrim that he has written the letter, then call him again and ask him if he still wants you or not because you should always try to compromise and then if you realize that there is no way then divorce! Thank you!

I wouldn't jump back into the game just yet. Its probably healthy for you to have some time to reflect on your newfound freedom. My previous girlfriend and I met the day she got out of a bad relationship, this put an unnecessary strain on our first few weeks. Give it a month, if he's worth it, he'll still be there.

You really should wait for the divorce to be final. If this guy is that awesome, he'll wait. The divorce should go pretty quickly if neither of you opposes it, unless you have kids or a house.

Any children involved??? that's my first consideration. Second, if not, hey, he's the one that filed for divorce. Just remember, if you really like this other guy..... you may not want to use him for your "rebound". If you really, really like him, mabey you should talk to him about giving yourself a little time for grieving, even if you hated your husband, you will grieve.

yeah I think so, especially if he told you like that, with a letter? That's a slap in the face and permission for anything.
