Arabs have a 'cultural' pledge to destroy Israel.
Anybody that claims 'oil' is the problem is ignoring the long history between these two groups. They think 'history' started in the 20th century.
It goes back to Abraham, Ishmael vs Issac.

The Middle East has been in turmoil for a long time, certainly long before Oil. There are many possible causes. One could be that the Western powers tried to carve up the land and make nations out of sand bars (at the turn of the century). Another could be that the Western powers threw a hot potato into their midst in the form of the Israeli nation. Probably, however, the major cause is the fact that a tiny region in the center is the birthplace of three monotheistic religions, each one claiming to be the "true" religion with the "only true" god--and each religion is different and each of their gods is different, so they spend their days duking it out with each other. This, as I said, has been going on a long time. The Roman Empire had a rough time in the region 2000 or so years ago. The American Empire is having its share now. The Chinese and Indian Empires will probably have their share in the future.

Because in the past it was populated by nomadic tribes who recognised territory but not real ownership. The modern concept of "countries" and the fact that they have been placed in these "countries" by european countries has led to conflict as most dont believe they should be where they are or that others should not be where they have been placed.
Israel did not exist until last century but their many tribes existed in the region for centuries before this.
There was always religious conflict and.although Islam, christianity and judaeism all started fron the teachings of Abraham, their leanings towards each other have always been negative.
Thats why there is constant turmoil and I dont see any way this will change. Strange that the bible maintains armagedon will come from this region !!!

Unfortunately the turmoil is caused by the fact there seems to be no Arab country governed by common politics. You have Monarchies, Democracies, Theocracies and Dictatorships and in the middle you have Israel. The West is happy there is continuing frictions as this prevents the Arab States coming together and as a bloc holding the West to ransom over oil.

Because people just can't get on and the middle east is where two of the great ideological / cultural divided meet.
The area has always been a problem and it always will be. Although it might help if the US were a bit firmer with the Israelis.
There is no real solution to this problem. Fundamentally a small proportion of people in any community will always be bigoted, sad but true, and with so much bad blood in the region (and we're talking thousands of years of bad blood) and so many different peoples each intolerant of each other t can only led to problems.
Can people please for the shake of their children please GET ON with each other.

This is probably the best question Ive seen.
I believe that the rigid religious beliefs held by ppl in the middle east is what causes the conflict. A would without religion (where individuals still held a sense of spirituality) would be a much more harmonious place.

It has been thus since the dawn of time. Moses brought the Israelites to the area which was already inhabited. Wars followed. In the Roman period, the 9th Legio murdered thousands, caused chaos and did untold damage to inter tribal relations. Divide and rule policy. The same policy is used to day by USA.

because the west were supped enough to put all the Jewish people in Germany in 1945 in Palestine and force the locale people to be come secondary people in there homeland so since then the Arabs have united against Israel and the west( because they had promised the Arabs that they could have a united Arab federation)including Palestine and north Africa and we all know why the west did this.... oil

The area between the Mediterranean and the Arabian desert forms land bridge of very fertile land between Europe/Asia and Africa. It is therefore very valuable land and has been fought over by many different people since history has been recorded. No doubt this will continue for many hundreds of years to come
