Now its getting out of hands. I have been asking this question for ages and no one seems to care. AdAwareSE Personal's update definition is now 16 days, WHICH MEANS IT IS OUT OF DATE. I manually check for updates everyday, but have not received a byte since 19th Sep. Isn't this outrageous?????? They have given us a free antispyware, that does not mean they won't update it. All the other 3 antispyware which I have get updated almost daily. What about the new spyware and adware released after 19th Sep??? I am not saying I get them, but what of those who have got only AdAwareSE on their system? Is there any way to contact Lavasoft officials?

Aloha from Down Unda!

Earlier today, as usual after routine checks, after 8 hours of internet use, the Lavasoft AdAware SE build 1.06r1 was initiated, with a response of something like definitions haven't been updated in 16 days, do I wanna connect with a further response of, 'No updated componets available'...which is, in my mind, 'no news is good news'. So I'm running my smart scan with nothing to prompt any concern...until your question!
In the past 3 years, there have been several occasions, when there has been an unusual 'lapse' of updates for any number of unknown reasons. Since it's often necessary to download some items from 'mirror' sites, it's fairly possible that anything of concern should be completely removed & downloaded again, if only to give you something to do besides reading all the different reviews of the Lavasoft services.
If the computer is running smoothly, the main thing I consider is that the 'price is right'.
The answer to your question is simple: 'No updated componets are available', period, end of story. To pitch a fit with the folks at Lavasoft seems like an option reserved for buttheads without an ability to recognise the plain & simple facts that are readily available all over the internet! Merely "Google" LavasoftUSA or http://www.lavasoft.nu/ & 'buy' yourself a full load of extra special key rap to keep yourself occupied!
As you may be aware, there are endless pages of outdated information to read concerning Lavasoft & many downloaders such as Download.com & MajorGeeks. Don't git yer panties in a twist. Just BE PATIENT & WAIT! Wait for more news from Lavasoft, wait for lines to clear, wait processes to engage another period of phases to keep systems from being poluted with obsolete problems. I gotta wait fer da ~

I just did an adaware update and the latest file is September 19.
There's nothing wrong with your computer they just haven't updated the definitions, there must not be any new threats out there yet for them to update it.

If you want extra protection use these programs to help prevent spyware infections:

I'm not sure what anti-virus program you are using but I have been using avast home anti-virus for 3 years this is the best free antivirus scanner of ever used (this is a free program) because it has a boot-time scan. I've used this boot-time scanner in my computer business and has worked great. The Scanner runs after you reboot and before windows starts up. Make sure you uninstall your current anti-virus scanner before installing avast, it will ask to run a boot time scan when you install it.

The latest update is 19.09.2006.

Given the state of anti-spyware technology, it is best to run several packages. I use AdAware, Defender, and Spybot Search & Destroy. What one misses, one of the others will usually catch.

Yes i agree it is out of date, and i also believe for the less tech savvy of users out there that they should make the release weekly at least... but this is the "free" product, they also have the professional version which you have to pay for... anyways i digress..

if you follow this link to their support forums you will see what the latest update file is..

there is also a discussion about you query as well going on in..

hope that helps any probs.. ask them :P good luck!!
