I have decided to organise an acoustic night. Do I still need to have a sound man/ technician to do sound checks? Lastly can keyboard be included in an acoustic line-up and would the singers use mics or not?

I would say yes you still need a sound engineer. Just think of MTV unplugged (yes this is probably ancient but it's jsut a reference). They still had a very large audience to perform for so they would still use mics and stuff. They would use accoustic guitars but you still need to hear them in the back of the room, so there would be a certain amount on 'plugged' devices anyway.

Accoustic means "non-amplified", so you do not want the instruments plugged in to amplifiers to be "authentic". As for the sound tech, unless you wish to run the PA system and lighting yourself, it would be a good idea to keep one handy. And, to stay with the "accoustic" theme, you should find a piano (I know this is an old-fashioned concept :~) ) rather than an electric keyboard to use, but if you do not have access and you have to have a piano, I do not see a major problem other than you will not be "authentic". Microphone use usually does not fall under the accustic title one way or the other, so use it so all can enjoy the voices.
