NEW MEDIA: What's a good book or website for a graphic designer/newspaper editor to check out?

I'm a journalist and I am looking for books, web sites, trade journals or anything on new media.

As for trade journals...to be honest there aren't really any great ones in the UK. Most people in the industry buy a combination of design literature and off-the-shelf web magazines such as Computer Arts.

There are thousands of books out there, but it really does depend on what you want to know about New Media - whether you're a designer, a developer or you want to get into the industry.

Apologies for the vagueness of this answer...its just such a big subject. If you're interested in award winning websites, a lot of people in the industry keep their eye on the following site (amongst many many others)...
