You only get paid social security in an amount of a percentage of the last year you worked...
They calculate your earnings in the last year and break it down to a percent...
I am on disability and I am getting half of what I made when I was working...
If you are healthy, it may be different...
But you are the only one entitled to a pay check...
No not all members get money...
Just you as the provider...
Its not a get rich quick plan, other wise I would have my husband retire...
So you can forget that idea...

You get the social security. Your wife and children will only get your social security after you die. So yes, your wife can work. However, check with your SS office to see how her (your joint) income will affect your payment.

Your SS payment depends on how much you've earned in your lifetime and at what age you retire. You cannot begin to collect until age 62.

Your minor children will only receive a benefit if you pass away.

Your wife can collect a retirement benefit based upon her earnings or as a spousal benefit (which is 50% of your benefit).

Most folks receive a retirement benefit of approximately $1,500 a month (based on your wages).
