I am in the high-risk (and I mean HIGH RISK) group for breast cancer since my mother had it several times(6-7 times). Because of this, I can't take birth control (for my periods or if I ever have sex) because it contains estrogen, or anything else that contains estrogen. What alternatives are there, if any, that are just as effective as birth control (besides abstinence and condoms)?

mmk, if I ever have sex, 'course I'm gonna use condoms. I'm wondering if there's a pill similar to birth control which does the same thing without having estrogen in it lol

There is a method of birth control that doesnt require any hormones or procedures. Im not totally sure on all the details but I have known a few women who would take their vaginal temperature and record a pattern so that they would know when they were ovulating and when they werent. It was very effective! Sorry I cant give you the specifics!

I believe the DepoProvera shot is progesterone and no estrogen.

This is what I use. Once every three months, I go to the doctor, get a shot, and I'm good to go. However, it will eradicate your periods completely after some time (I was having somewhat normal cycles until my second dose), and if you're looking to get pregnant anytime soon, it will take quite a few months to work itself completely out of your system.

you know the two, no sex or condoms, nothing wrong with condoms, why avoid them, the sponge and so on have hormones in them too i think so that wont work, an iud might work for you but condoms are sooooooooooo much easier and no icky mess afterward.

The older women in my family told me this. It is the best type of birth control!

One aspirin a day!

You take the aspirin and hold it tightly between the knees!
