thats the way they are brought up, they are told that girls should be seen not heard, so they are not so noisy & loud, take time 2 ignite the passion in them n then see u will be burnt to ashes.... for sure.

I think its a stereotype because a lot of us asian girls ARE shy. I would definitely think its all because of asian culture in general and when it comes to us girls, we're brought up (or our parents at least try) to be conservative and traditional.
Confidence can be easily mistaken for arrogancy (since too much confidence IS arrogancy), thats one of the major no-no's since humility is a huge virtue to us asians.
Take it slow if she's shy. Make sure she feels comfortabe with you, a little effort goes a long way!

Not all Asian girls are shy, that is a sterotype. Also if someone is shy...work with them on it. Don't be so rushy and demanding. Let her get use to you and feel comfortable. A lot of people are shy at first...not just Asian girls.

asian girls like asian guys are shy because of the way that they were brought up....asians are brought up to not be so noisy and to not really speak up so that is y they are so shy

Most asain girls living in america feel especially self conscious about their actions to people...not sure why but I think asain girls are so cute. Nobody can really give you an honest answer unless they actually ARE asain...I can't believe some people on here......
Anyways...Like most shy people, they will warm up when they know you longer.

It's cultural. the society as a norm is more reserved.
Aslo, if they don't have a complete grasp of English, that can add too the shyness.
Just take your time and talk politely to the girls.
