if you have a cigarette and flush the butt down the toilets, will it clog up the toilet drain and cause like flooding or something??

From my years of smoking in the jacks in school. The cigarettes never clogged the toilets. And I say there was at least 100 flushed down each day

In the 1st place......you should learn some manners......dont flush cigarette butts down the toilet....... you dispose them in the trash!
2nd ....answering your ? they do clog up the pipes & drains & give you a big plumber's bill..... besides the frustration of not being able to use a clogged up toilet!
The 'filters' of cigarettes are made of a rather durable material that could last for a lengthy period.
When you flush them down the toilet....they get soaked in water....hydrated......and they swell.....may be not as much as a dry cornflake......but enough to give you syour headaches & the resulting huge bill from your plumber!
Son......next time you smoke...throw that butt in the right place.....or better......stop that filthy smoking habit altogether & join me on a hash run into the jungle!

The filter is made up of highly-compressed materials. If the butt gets lodged somehow, and the materials get saturated and expand, they could cause a clog.
Just use an ashtray and toss them with the trash. It's more environmentally sound anyway.

No I wouldn't think so as it's so small HOWEVER...!!!!
it's not really the environmental friendly thing to do as it will flush out into the sea where fishies (poor fishies :( ) may swallow them...
Also it might not flugh because its so little so ...
I do not recommend it... why not just stubb it out and put in the rubbish like everyone else..
or is this just another one of those inane questions where no real answer is required ... ?

well, is a cigarette as big as the dook that you take after a steak dinner ? (you know, the kind where your eyes are about to pop out because it feels like you are trying to pass a watermelon) no...can a wet cigarette swell up as big as a tampon? no...and sewage doesnt go to the ocean where the "fishies are" it goes to a treatment plant where it is cleaned and put back in the system. by the way why is throwing them in the trash where they just go to a land fill "more environmentally sound"?

no, I,ve heard of bigger things being flushed down toilets, I throw my ashtray with about 7-8 butts in the toilet all the time , this way I know there all totally out & never had any problems.no not the ashtray just the butts.harhar.
