Every car is fitted with bearings to all the four wheels in order
for the wheels to rotate smoothly at low or high speeds. If the
bearing is faulty at the right hand rear wheel, it gives a low to
high pitch sound, depending on the driving speed of the car.
If you ignore it completely and keep on driving your car, the
faulty bearings will jammed the wheel and it can pose serious
problems on the road.
My suggestion to you is take your car, as soon as possible, to
the nearest workshop to have it replaced with a new set.

actually its a simple problem to fix. They remove the pin pop the old bearing out greese the new bearing and put it in. Put the clip back in and its done. Two things can happen if left unfixed. The wheel can lock up while you are driving down the road. Or it can damage the spindle which would cost much more money to fix. Find a cheap garage. Doesn't take a high tech place to fix this problem. The guys at autozone might be able to walk you through it. If its just the outter bearing and the spindle is fine the whole thing should cost around $100 for someone to fix. Do not let anyone rip you off.

CAUTION: On many cars & trucks the only thing that holds the rear axles in, is the wheel bearing! I Swear! I owned a 1970 International 1/2 ton pick up, was going down the road one day, felt a wierd feeling, looked out the RVM and saw my left rear axle with tire and all attached, slide out of the rear end 3'. I turned left very smoothly and the sucker slid back in, but the only thing come to find out that held it in was a little wheel bearing, Freaky!

is your car front or rear wheel drive rear wheel is harder to change the axle has to come out to change the bearing but less chance of wheel coming off front wheel drive the bearing might be a hub with bearings that will cost more and if front wheel drive the wheel could come off

You can but eventually (very soon) it will seize up and good luck with that. The bearing is what actually allows the wheel to rotate. Its not an expensive job so get it fixed.

Alternatively it may not seize up, instead it might wear out and the wheel falls off, causing traffic hazard to you and others.
