I know of two possible answers. The first is Calvin Coolidge. He was Vice-President under Warren G. Harding. When Harding died from a stroke, Coolidge was visiting his father's farm in Vermont. Upon hearing the news, Coolidge's father, a justice of the peace, had his son go out to the barn to be sworn in as President. As his father was not a federal officer, some questioned the legitimacy of the swearing-in, so to allay concerns, Coolidge re-took the oath upon his return to Washington.

In 1985, Ronald Reagan was sworn in twice for his second term. Since 20 January was a Sunday, the first was a private ceremony held at the White House, with the idea of having a public ceremony at the Capitol the following day. However, 21 January was a bitterly cold day, so the public ceremony was ALSO held at the White House, and a celebration was held indoors in nearby Landover, Maryland.
