This evening, my husband and I were watching a movie. Three times, he let out a sound of pain, grabbed the side of his head, closed his eyes, and laid his head back. He said his temple area, and about 2 inches around it were hurting. Sharp pains, not like a headache. Any ideas what it could be?

migraines is my guess, when i took sports medicine classes my teacher taught me something to relieve my headaches during class...if you spread all 5 of your fingers as much as you can you'll see a vein going from your wrist to your thumb and right next to it theres a dip... unless you've broken your thumb like mine only shows on my left hand because ive broken my right thumb and scar tissue has covered it...anyways that dip is called a snoose pouch because back before chewing tobacco they used to put tobacco on there snoose pouch and snort it...anyways if you put your thumb in the snoose pouch and your index finger on the other side of your hand and pinch as hard as you can for about 30 seconds your headaches should go away... another reason for the headaches could have something to do with the light, either in your house or on the screen of your television... you shuold definetly consider gettin his eyes checked for stigmatisms...stigmatism means the eyeball is shaped like a football instead of like a regular sphere, that messes up the light and can make changes between dark and bright very very very significant and actually give you a headache

definitely a vascular problem, probably migraines, but could also be an anhurism. Probably not an anhurism, as he would likely be dead at this point. tell him to go to the doctor. migraines hurt in the temple. but don't take any chances.

I've been getting them too for a couple years. Feels like my head is being struck by lightning every time. My doctors can't find it.
