My breast were really swore on the sides, when usually my nipples just start hurting. Now here it is the next month and my breast are hurting again on the sides, not my nipples yet! Can a mature woman explain this to me? I've never had this before and I've been having my period since I was 10yrs.

During a woman's period, her breasts may hurt. It may be due to hormones and/or edema in the tissues. It's normal.

I get the same thing and understand. It used to freak me out too in the beginning. I'm 44 now and I still get the breast pain on the sides.

It's just hormonal changes in your body. All very normal. As you get older, your hormones will do different things. If you are still concerned after reading all the advice from answerer's, then you should go speak to your doctor and perhaps get a blood test. Generally, stress and diet will effect hormones, has much changed in your lifestyle recently?
