Let's start with your diet to help relieve your constipation.
There are some products on the market, like Metamucil that will work. Any heavy fiber diet and fairly good intake of water, after first binding you, will than improve regularity, consistency, texture and ease of passing your stool. Ultimately relieving the amount of pressure your putting on your rectum and anus.
Now, your hemorrhoid problem.
This works great.
First, a sit bath in your bathtub. Sitting in your bathtub,in only a few inches of water as hot as you can bear it, enough to rise about 2 inches above your hemorrhoids, draw your legs tight to your body, and clasp your arms around and hold them(your legs), to expose as much of the hemorrhoid to the hot water as possible.
Soak for at least 10-15 minutes. Please, don't burn your self.
Than, immediately, using a cotton ball, generously apply directly to your hemorrhoid,( from your freezer, very well chilled) "witch hazel" and than immediately insert any one of the many (also freezer chilled) suppositories, such as "Preparation H".
IT WILL BRING IMMEDIATE RELIEF
Do it as often as needed until you get complete comfort.
good luck

Tucks medicated pads. They're basically witch hazel and water, and they soothe the hemmorhoids and make them shrink a bit.

Other than that, don't strain too hard when going to the bathroom, that makes them worse. Just sit there and let gravity do most of the work.

You could also try taking Metamucil, which is a natural fiber laxative and won't affect your breastfeeding, and drinking plenty of fluids.

#1: DON'T PUSH when you're having a bowel movement. That'll only make your hemorrhoids worse.

#2: Drink loads and loads of water. Breastfeeding dehydrates because it is taking all the liquids out of you to help produce milk.

#3: Try a stool softener, NOT a laxative. Stool softeners are safe for breastfeeding. (I got a 3rd degree tear due to childbrith and my OB/GYN told me to take a stool softener so it wouldn't hurt for me to have a bowel movement. He knew I was breastfeeding.)

#4: Tucks Medicated Pads also help with hemorrhoids. It soothes the burning and itching.

#5: Make sure that you get plenty of fiber in your diet. Fiber is nature's stool softener :-)

#6: Keep active, move around. Being active helps to keep you regular, keeps you from being constipated.

Best wishes and congratulations on your baby and breastfeeding!

Well, I wouldn't think that a cream like Preperation-H would cause any problems with breast feeding, since it is used locally.

You should really ask a pharmacist. They would probably have a better idea than anyone.

Try tucks to ease the pain, and milk of magnesia. You really need to make sure you're drinking a lot of fluids milk, water and juice are the best for that. If they don't get better you need to see your doctor, sometimes they are too bad, and you have to have surgery.

Go talk to a pharmacist - they'll advise you on which ointment is good to use. Depends what is available in your area. Eat some broccoli, spinach, popcorn ---
