If your talking about the Amish school shooting then you have to change your opinion! The shooter was not an Amish student or person! This was a outsider whom had a grudge from 20 yrs ago.He just knew they were not a secure school where he could gain access to do his damage. He didn't have a grudge with the Amish. He had mental issues that were effecting him from what he did to 2 family members 20 yrs ago which would put him at 11 or 12 yrs old. He had dreams of doing that again. The Amish maybe forgiving of what he did but I would never be!!

But as for other school shootings I would see where you would blame the shooters classmates and school. Today's kids are left home alone more and they don't have anything constructive to do so they find ways of getting into trouble. Parents need to get more involved with their kids and not with themselves. If a parent would just sit down with their kids twice a week and talk to them and find out what is going on in their kids life they will know whats happening. But parents today are to busy to pay much attention to their kids. They work screwy hours or they are to busy with their own life to even think about their own child. But once they have to answer to the school because their child did something wrong they go nuts. It really all boils down to the parents who create the issue because they are not involved with kids. Get the parents to wake up and see their own kids and maybe the problems with school violence may go down or even away!!

Nobody should ever be influenced into doing something this horrendous by the way others have treated them. I was bullied by my classmates. I would never do this sort of thing. We grow up and we move on with life.

Today, America is full of anger. Where the problem lies is that this sort of anger isn't addressed by those in authority. This man molested younger female relatives 20 years ago, and since Ronald Reagan shut down the mental institutions these mentally ill people are left to roam the streets.

Also, you have to consider that some mentally ill people are locked up for 72 hour holds, but as soon as they get out and get a belly full of wine they are as crazy as ever.

I'm not saying this is the case in this matter, but the man was definitely off his rocker and should not have been free to prey on young children. All the signs were there.

Well, in at least 2 cases the shooter was an adult and not from the school.

Beyond that, kids have been teasing other kids forever in schools. I think to place the blame on that factor is naive.

Kids are explosed to violence on TV, movies, video games, songs, etc., at ever younger ages. To think that you can pump that stuff into their heads on a daily basis and not have it have SOME effect is crazy.

Beyond that, I blame the media. They jump on those stories and play them hour after hour for days after the event. You get some nut-job who wants to off himself who sees that and he decides that "well if I'm going to go I might as well have an audience." If the media would blur out the guy's face and not use his name, I think it would go a long way to reducing such tragedies.

Gosh, I am not sure what you are asking in relationship to you statement. Two of the past three school shootings were by adults, not students.

Regarding the shootings by students, my observation is this, these actions were not prevalent in the 30's. 40's etc., so why in the past couple of decades have they increased? Children have been bullied and teased as long as I can remember, so what is the real root of the problem? Don't know, just know that I am sad for the family and friends for all involved.

Of course the blame lies with the shooters. However, I would like to add that I think school shootings get WAY too much media attention. Not that these events aren't tragic or newsworthy, because they are, but when a neglected teenager with mental problems sees all the attention these things get, they start thinking about how much attention they would receive and therefore it's a much more effective way to communicate their angst than simple suicide.

One word comes to mind. Choice. You know what, just because someone pushes you doesn't make you just snap. Come on now. I had a crappy life growing up. I was raped tortured bullied. you name it. I am not going to just go kill people because of it. That is what therapy is for. Granted I made mistake and I am a bit messed up b/c of it but really, kids are mean not matter where you are. Here's an example a kid will tell someone they are fat. you know why? ignorance- lack of information. maturity. As you grow you learn that is wrong. Most of those who do that are insecure as well. So why would you even blame anyone else except the psycho who took young children's lives.innocent lives. They did nothing to him. Nor did the school. And as for a breaking point, that crap is not even valid. twenty years after he chose to molest someone and 9 years after his premature infant dies he hits a breaking point. NO. He was giving himself an excuse to justify his depression and suicidal/homicidal thoughts. So he made it OK in his mind to do what he did. You can't tell me unless he was clinically insane he didn't know what he was doing. He planned it out. So what your saying is, Parents who lost their beautiful young children they shouldn't blame the guy who did it??? Instead parents blame the school who did it to him.

Shoot everyone had bullies that they had to learn how to deal with. The one's I dealt with I ended up having to beat the snot out of them to get them to leave me alone. If I would have started a fight as a means of revenge I would have been at fault. To excuse the bad behavior of someone who was bullied, doesn't make them take responsibility for their actions.

The ones that didn't kill themselves should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as adults. This isn't a new phenomenon either.

While it is obvious that you can't prevent weapons being brought to school, Shoot the democratic governor of PA admitted that they can't prevent attacks. CNN reported he chose the school because of the locale and because of the lack of security. For those of you that don't know an unarmed security guard will always loose against someone that is armed. We might have to start discussing whether or not to arm teachers and principles.

Bullsh*t!! As a mother of a son who attended Santana High school when 2 were killed, 13 injured in 2001 - the bullying in that case was found to be in his outside activities at the skate board park. Let me ask you, which of the Amish children bullied the 31 yr old? and which one of the girls last week bullied the 53 yr old homeless man? Why are you talking sh*t about something you obviously have no clue about? People who always need someone else to blame for their own failings are just garbage. In this case, if the Heffy Bag fits, jump in it. Your opinion is just pathetic. I don't usually get this angry on here, but you are so full of crap that I don't even believe I'm wasting my time.

Regardless, no matter what happens killing innocent people is not justification for being bullied.

The shooters themselves are now the bullies and showed that they are the bigger a** hole.

I will admit, schools tend to protect some bullies, especially the Jocks or star Cheerleaders.
