ok this has been bugging me..miranda and steve had a baby, brady..brady is steve's last name...they weren't married when they had him but then they got married later..so did miranda change her last name? wouldn't brady's last name be brady too? or was it still hobbs

They never said one way or another if Miranda took Steve's name (doubtful since she built her career as a lawyer a Miranda Hobbs).
I believe it was Brady Hobbs. Also a baby does not automatically take the father's name is the parents eventually marry, as in Miranda's case. The child goes by what is listed on the birth certificate but the name can be changed later it the parents want to.
I often thought about that. Brady Brady. How unoriginal.

Steve's last name is Brady, his childs name is Brady Hobbs. They get married after he's born (they only get back together at his first birthday). I guess since Miranda wouldn't change her last name that she would change her sons (epsecially to Brady Brady)

i suppose the baby's name was changed to brady brady to raise the status of legitimacy. miranda's a lawyer, so this is really possible.
i like to think that brady has a second name which was never mentioned on air.

I thought about that too, I just figured that that his name was Brady Hobbs Brady. They never discussed it on the show.
I guess it's a good thing it's not reality.

i think the writers were not intending for any of the girls to get married. they wanted to end the show with all of them unwed with the exception of Charlotte. from what i understand the fans wrote in stating that they wanted to see steve and miranda married. brady was to signify their union without an actual union.

Her name changed
The baby's name did not.
You have to adopt a baby in that case to change its last name.
