There are lots of holes in people's walls, few due to accidents, and most due to teenager's fists/feet. Isn't there something better out there that can be painted just like drywall, but not break when the teens decide to express their rage? Why are we still using this weak drywall stuff anyway?

You can get stronger or lighter, but not both. Due to wood panellings thinness it should be installed over drywall. Plaster is much heavier. I went through this problem with my kids and ended up charging them $50 a hole I had to patch. After a couple of holes, they stopped punching the walls.

yes of course the technology exists, yet due to cost its not an alternative many would choose...and drywall is easy to puty in quickly, look neat, and be painted or papered with what ever you want...I've seen houses with alternatives like concrete and steel, but much more exspensive and running wires and pipes is a pain. Also does NOT look good at all! But you cant punch holes in it!

Drywall is a relatively cheap material and it is fire resistant. It is very importatant, building code wise, to have fire resistant material on walls/ceilings. It works well if you have sane people occupying a structure. The people with mental problems would be destructive regardless of what was used. Other materials such as plywood, waferboard are not fire resistant. Steel is fire resistant of course but would transfer heat to rapidly to the structure so that material would not be as good as drywall in that respect. A plus for drywall is that it is 'fixable.' If I had someone, regardless of age, punching holes in my walls I think they would be asked to live somewhere else.
